We would like to extend a big thank you to Paul, Kirsty and Ellie Westaway for hosting the Mid Counties YDP workshop on Saturday 6th July at their Melview Herd. We are deep into the show calendar so Seniors are busy, but we had 5 very keen Juniors, and an Intermediate who thoroughly enjoyed a very hands-on day. Two of our trainers were called away due to a last minute illness and one had to be taken to hospital, but Neil Lloyd stepped in and ran the workshops all day, for which we are very grateful. He spent a great deal of time working one-to-one with the juniors and they got a great deal out of the day, and are looking forward to participating again. Ellie Westaway stepped up and took the Dressing Workshop and did a great job multi-tasking as an Intermediate participant and Trainer. They say “every day is a school day”, and the adults present certainly picked up some new and useful information they can take away and use at home.
