The joint Production sales from the Rotherwick Herd of Tony Foster and the Slawston Herd from Slawston Grange Estate culminated in a top of 4600GNS for the last lot of the sale Fordel Bishop Monkton herd sire at Slawston.  The 4 year old bull by Fordel Loch Torridon had EBV figures in the top 5% for the Terminal Sire Index and was secured by W.T. Jones & Co, Tywyn, Gwynedd.

Females enjoyed a sound trade topping at 4050GNS for a combined cow and calf Rotherwick Isabella T195 by Hallington Picasso and her March born bull calf by Rotherwick Lord Haha selling to HB & LJ Lear Aylesbury, Bucks.

Other Rotherwick cows and calves sold to a creditable 2430GNS for Jac Beauty No13 a sixth calver out of Netherton BeautyJ533 selling at 1680GNSto AJ & FJ Clarridge, Middle Claydon, Bucks and her heifer calf by Rotherwick Lord Haha to D Jefferies, Banbury, Oxon at 750GNS. Another Jac cow Rachel No16 by the same Canadian sire Tigre 28U with twin calves sold to 2400gnsto J Hughes, Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

In calf heifers topped at 1720GNS for Rotherwick Georgina V251 by Haymount War Smith and in calf to Nightingale Proud Jomjo to G Gilder, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Maiden Heifers were closely followed peaking at 1550GNS for Rotherwick Evian W269 a Rawburn Black Bush daughter in the top 10% with Terminal Sire Index taken by D Jeffries, Banbury, Oxon.

The Slawston consignment attracted keen interest from both pedigree and commercial buyers, the cow and calf section topping at 2400GNS for Ribble Elka S560 a Blelack Lord Hancock daughter in the top 10% with Terminal Sire Index and suckling a May born steer calf also taken by D. Jeffries.  Slawston Whitney U011 a second calver by Ribble Black Burn with heifer calf at foot by Ribble Baker was knocked down at 2100GNS to T.A. Roberts, Bettws- Y – Rhos, Conwy.

The herd sire Fordel Bishop Monkton had left his quality stamp on the herd with heifers by him selling to 1300GNS for Slawston Passionetta to L.J. Joseph, Llanidloes, Powys.
