Autumn Angus Female Sale Skipton – Report

The Autumn Angus Female Sale at Skipton had another excellent clearance rate for an entry that was mainly made up of young cows coming with their 2nd to 4th calves.
Leading price from the collective entry belonged to TA&P Johnson, Yearsley, at 2600gns for a Rawburn Elysium daughter incalf to Black Hawk. The same vendor made 2400gns of Copperidge Lady Ruth S061, out of Wall Lady Ruth by Cardona Potter it was sold incalf to McCormick Pathfinder.
Messrs Walsh from the Buckhurst herd topped their run at 2600gns for Buckhurst Elluma, by Blelack Entertainer out of a Lady Croft Bold Lad Dam it sold carrying its second calf to Rolex for March.
The Airedale Draft Sale was full of quality, and it was Airedale Kitt U552 that took the first joint lead price of 4000gns on the day. By Airedale Lord Perseus out of The Moss Kitt, this excellent young cow sold due it third calving to Airedale Rockonboy.
The second at 4000gns was from the Kinannie family, Airedale Kinannie T541 carrying its 2nd calf to Weeton Black Battleship.
Within the Airedale sale was the March 2019 born young bull Airedale Mr Essential, a stylish grandson of Weeton Lord Horatio that sold for 3700gns.
Messrs Isherwood had 4 further 3000gns plus sales in their run of 21 included within the sale.
