Notice of the sad passing of Andrew Shufflebotham (Shuffs)

It is with a great deal of sadness that we have to announce the passing of Andrew Shufflebotham (Shuffs) who fought a battle with Cancer for the last 18 months with his well-known tenacity and commitment to beat the first prognosis by some considerable distance.

Shuffs finished his three-year term on the Aberdeen-Angus Council in February this year where he was recognised as being very committed and impartial, having a great sense of humour, with the interests of the membership at heart. He took over the chair of the YDP committee and was instrumental in reshaping that for two years delivering an excellent Senior Conference at his home and in conjunction with Cogent at Nantwich. The photo above is Andrew at home talking through the seniors on the finer points of the breeding of his own herd the Cheerbrook herd that owing to the prevailing circumstances was dispersed in October 2019 at Stirling.

Shuffs and his wife Sarah set up Cheerbrook farm shop in Cheshire which they established in the year 2000 which has grown and developed since establishment, to a very sizeable and impressive operation, with the simple edits of quality and service being key drivers, that it has become today. Not an easy task but reflects the tenacity and zeal of them both, to make it a go to place for local produce on the outskirts of Nantwich in Cheshire.

His zest for life and his presence at sales and shows will be sadly missed by all who met him, and our condolences go Sarah and the family at this very sad time.

This brief notice goes nowhere near a reflection of a great man and we will give a more comprehensive reflection of Andrews commitment to the Society in the Annual review 2020.
