It is with great sadness that I bring the news of the passing of Society member Alasdair Houston of the Gretna House Herd. Alasdair passed away aged 59 on the 21st June 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
Many tributes to him have arrived here at Pedigree House, reflecting people’s experiences with Alasdair over the years. He was a true gentleman, and the tributes and messages of condolence reflect that.
Alasdair was a family man, respected farmer and pedigree cattle breeder. He also had business interests outside farming in Gretna Green Ltd, developed over the years with his entrepreneurial flair.
Alasdair leaves behind his wife Lucy, children Tara and Rafe, and extended family. Our thoughts are with them through this sad time.
