We are very proud to share that Ruth Perry, our YDP final winner in 2016, is excelling whilst on her Angus Travel Scholarship around South America, receiving amazing feedback from numerous well-respected breeders! Ruth has been an excellent role model to the Breed and the Society and we are very proud of the amazing work she has achieved.
Richard Saunders who managed the British stand at the huge Expointer show in the Southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande du Sul last week said the following:
“Ruth Perry was an excellent colleague – very knowledgeable about cattle and the wider industry combined with a very mature and diplomatic outlook. She did very well when addressing the Angus Youth.”
Ruth also worked with one of the biggest and most respected agricultural businesses and cattle breeders in Argentina, Federico Boglione at Los Lazos, with the highly esteemed Mailhos family in Uruguay. She also had the opportunity to show Angus for ex-pat Ross Houghton at the Prado Show in Montevideo.
Rob Wills from the UK Sire Services had the following to say:
“She is proving to be a credit to herself, her family, the breed, the British livestock sector and wonderful ambassador for her country. She will go far in life, of that I am sure. Like all of you, I am sure, I cannot wait to hear all about her travels and experiences on her return.”
It truly looks like Ruth is doing an amazing job out there and we are very proud of the work she is doing representing not only herself but also the Breed and the brand! Seeing the amazing work our youngsters are achieving not only domestically but internationally is amazing to see and with the YDP final coming up later this month, we are sure this sets a great example for youngsters looking to follow in Ruth’s footsteps!
