The World Angus Forum 2017- Day 4

The World Angus Forum 2017- Day 4

20.06.2017

With a few sore heads and weary eyes after a great Saturday evening, day 4 of the World Angus Forum got underway when we hit the road again at 08.30am to head for the Warren for another magnificent visit at the Aynho Aberdeen-Angus Herd courtesy of Alex McLaren and family, before heading on to the award-winning Daylesford Organics farm and farm shop.

The tiredness in the camp disappeared as the McLaren family treated our delegates to yet another fantastic show of cattle, including a live demonstration of a bull which was enjoyed greatly by everyone in attendance. We then had a chance to relax in the beautiful gardens under a very impressive monkey puzzle tree, where we enjoyed some tea and refreshments before getting back on the road.

After a short journey, we arrived at Daylesford Organics where we were met by managers Richard and Phil, who we must first of all thank for what was a truly brilliant day. We were treated to a tour of the full estate on JCB fastracs where we got to see everything that goes into the running of one of the country’s most sustainable organic farms, it was great to get such insight into their full process of vertical integration. The guys at Daylesford Organics laid on a wonderful lunch which was of course made using fully organic ingredients produced on-farm, including some of the nicest quiches we’d ever had!

A huge thank you is extended to the McLaren Family and all at Daylesford Organics for another brilliant day on the English Tour as part of the World Angus Forum. You can view some highlights from day 4 in the video below:
