Mogeely on top again at Cappamore

21.08.2017

Albert & Jennifer DeCogan, Killamuckey, Castlemartyr, Co. Cork continued their stellar run of results this summer show season by clinching yet another supreme breed championship at last weekend’s Cappamore Show. A larger than normal entry of Aberdeen-Angus cattle were put in front of judge Mr. Michael Barron, Grange, Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny despite the poor weather conditions in the lead-up to the annual show.

The champion winner, Mogeely Miylo P291, pictured above,  is fresh off taking the reserve senior championship at the National Livestock Show, Tullamore just six days prior to Cappamore and was shown with her prize-winning bull calf at foot. This cow is sired by Rosemead Karona J957 and is out of a Miylo cow, purchased from the world famous Liss herd, some years ago.

Standing in the reserve spot were John & Laurence Lynch, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick with their heifer, Portauns M Dockery 748.
