Taking the championship at one of the first shows of the season this year at Newark and Notts was Owen Tunney with his freshly calved heifer The Moss Krispy Girl N221. By Galawater Gaffer Geronimo J585, she’s out of The Moss Black Lord E570. This one was champion at Westmorland last year as a heifer and was this time was shown with her Liley Elder M073 heifer calf at foot. 

In reserve was the Turnbull family with their senior stock bull Fell Lane Mr Berbatov N259, a March 2013-born son of Oakchurch Field Marshall K143 and out of a Nightingale-bred MVF Lancer daughter. This bull was purchased in Stirling in February this year.
