Derbyshire-based commercial producer wins Dovecote Park carcass competition

The recent Dovectoe Park carcass competition, which attracted a strong entry from across the northern region of England saw a 397kg carcass from a Aberdeen-Angus cross Limousin steer bred by Neil Brocklehurst, Bakewell, take top honours in the home bred Aberdeen-Angus section.

One from his 250-cow predominantly Aberdeen-Angus sired commercial herd, this one graded out at U4-. His herd mate, a 22-month old Aberdeen-Angus cross out of a Limousin x Friesian dam took second place killing out at 396kg. Both entries were by Wesleyan Proud Peacock K060, a son of The Moss Mr Eshton D409 and out of a Castle of Mey Eurythmic daughter.
