The Great Yorkshire Show Results:
Overall Champion – Water End Payton N108 from R & C Rettie
Reserve Champion – Shadwell Pam T941 from Shadwell Estates
Overall Male Champion – Water End Payton N108 from R & C Rettie. Water End Payton was placed first in his class and overall male champion, the judge Mr Paul Westaway said, “this is a great 5 year old bull with a great head, who walks incredibly well and not over fat”.
Reserve Male Champion – Linton Gilbertines Powerhouse T169. Mr Paul Westaway said, “a great young bull with length and a great back, and a very strong future”. Mr Westaway also pulled forward his second placed senior bull from Marsden Farms Ltd, Shadwell Earl P773 as he deserved a special mention, describing the bull as “another magnificent bull that deserves recognition”.
Female Champion – Shadwell Pam T941 from Shadwell Estates, Reserve Female Champion – Crew Lady Jasmine S247 from Stephanie Dick. The honourable mention goes to J Rettie and R McNeil with a June 2017 heifer Doune Castle Lola T012, with Mr Westaway saying, “this is a phenomenal line up of females. Females need to be well grown, balanced and have good udders. The Champion took my breath away when she came into the ring, she is balanced and modern with great muscle along the loin. My reserve has a great future and is beautifully balanced, as is the honourable mention – a lovely, outstanding youngster”.
