After a wonderful day and night on Friday, we were all up bright and breezy on Saturday morning to leave for the Royal Three Counties Show at 07.30am, with a real buzz of excitement surrounding the National Show of Aberdeen-Angus cattle, which you can see some of the action from in the video below.
From start to finish, our day at the Royal Three Counties Show was absolutely fantastic, with the cattle on display and the overall organisation of the show both equally brilliant. After giving us all an excellent insight into the Rosemead Herd the day before, it was great to see Angus Stovold’s bull Rosemead King Samson S731 go on to win Supreme Champion Bull at the Royal Three Counties, ensuring some high spirits from Angus and all others involved! We’d like to extend our thanks to all the show organisers for putting on a great day, with particular thanks to Ken Nottage and Michael Blandford of the Royal Three Counties and Paul Westaway who is also part of the Aberdeen-Angus Council. We were served up a magnificent lunch at the Show, and were particularly grateful for being located in the lovely air-conditioned arena on what was a baking hot day! We must also thank Jeremy Price for some lovely strawberries that were served up, along with Westons Cider, sponsors of the event.
After the excitement of the Royal Three Counties Show, we took a scenic trip to Oxford before having a spectacular dinner at Exeter College. We must thank Kirsty Westaway who is a former scholar at Exeter College for helping make this great evening possible, where we were served up some of delicious beef courtesy of our friends at Scotbeef. The meal went down an absolute treat, with some of our overseas delegates even stating it was the best beef they’d ever tasted, so a huge thank you goes to Scotbeef. It was a great night for all, with several from our party going out and dancing late into the night, none more-so than Jacob from Montana who deserves a special mention for his dedication to the party! We would like to extend our thanks to Phillip Mundie and everyone else involved for organising a brilliant night at Exeter college.
