Worcester Sale Report

19.04.2023

The Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society held their annual spring sale at Worcester market, part of the multi breed sale held on 15th April.  The select entry forward sold well with 7 females and 7 bulls changing hands on the day.  The show was ably judged by Miss Maddie Clark, who selected Morpheus Rolling Stone as her champion.  Rolling Stone is a January 2022 born Cheerbrook Profit son out of a homebred dam, and went on to make £4200 in the sale following the show, for Owen Tunney.  The sale leader in the male section was Rosemead Kansas at £5250, consigned by PC Stovold and Son.  Next highest price on the day was £4725 for Oakchurch Duggie X442, an ET son of the prolific Netherallen Peter Pershore, consigned by Mr J and Mrs A Price.

Females were in demand with the small number forward selling well.  Messrs PC Stovold and Son sold Rosemead Bright Maid X300, an Aynho Eldorado son out of a homebred dam, selling for £5040.  Next best in the females were a pair of heifers consigned by Messrs AE & CR Bishop, which were spring 2021 born and entirely homebred, and changed hands at £1995 each.  Following closely behind was Westwilmer Grace X889, consigned by Messrs MR & SK Wescott & Son, which sold for £1890.
