Sale report from Melton Mowbray


At the recent multi breed sale at Melton Mowbray, Aberdeen Angus bulls represented themselves well under the careful eye of judge Will Ives.

D & PA Evans from  the Tree Bridge herd at Middlesborough took first and second in Class 1. First was with Tree Bridge Launchbury X939, sired by Tree Bridge Portsmouth S630 and out of Tree Bridge Lucy S594. Launchberry was also  prized overall breed Champion and sold at 4500gns to PK Farms, Friskney.

Taking second in his class but leading the price from the Evans’ stable was Tree Bridge Phipps X913. Sired by Tree Bridge Paterson U737 and out of Tree Bridge Polly PrideU705. He topped at 4600gns and sold to Conington Farms, travelling down to Cambridge.

CD Timm, Pickering with Wensleydale Reggie X075 by Blelack Ensign L796 and out of Wenslydale Rahara Galagirl R040 saw second prize in Class 2, selling for 3600gns to local purchaser, TJ & M Farms.
