The Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association will be putting on a display of the very best pedigree and commercial Aberdeen-Angus cattle at this year’s National Ploughing Championships at Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly from September 18th – 20th inclusive. In keeping with previous years, several of the major championship winners from the pedigree show circuit will be in attendance, alongside a selection of very high end Aberdeen-Angus sired crossbred stock too. In addition to the top quality exhibition of cattle on the stand itself, Mr. Mack Crowe, President of the Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association, along with many of the Society officers, from both Ireland and the UK, will be in attendance over the three-day long event to meet and chat with the membership.
The Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association is delighted to confirm that a mobile catering unit, serving premium Irish Aberdeen-Angus beef, will once again be in operation adjacent to the stand throughout the three days. This initiative was launched at last year’s championships and proved to be a very popular choice with the attendees, with lengthy queues of patrons sampling the world renowned Aberdeen-Angus beef each day. Angus Beef Ireland and Ark Animal Health will both have a presence inside the Irish Aberdeen-Angus marquee and this should add an extra interest to this year’s proceedings as well.
The National Ploughing Championships will be the first major event for the Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association ahead of a jam-packed Autumn schedule, preceding the National Aberdeen-Angus Calf Show which is due to take place on Saturday, October 13th and the annual Premier Autumn Sale which will be held on Saturday, November 10th. Both events will be staged at The Showgrounds, Carrick-On-Shannon, Co. Leitrim and both are due to attract plenty of top quality youngstock. It is hoped that several of the cattle scheduled to be involved at both events will be on show at this year’s National Ploughing Championships which is another great reason to visit the Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association stand from September 18th – 20th!!
