It was a splendid day at Cornwall for what was a ‘right Royal Agricultural Show’, with every machinery dealer in the whole of the South West present for this year’s Royal Cornwall Show. The Show provided the Society to have first use of our new event stand materials which went down well with the visitors, with the Society taking third place in the trade stands competition for livestock and societies. Visitors were out in their numbers, old and new, to celebrate the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society’s patron HRH Prince Charles’ attendance at the Show.
Thanks go out to all participants in the show and members of the Society and South West Club, particularly Lisa Davey and Tony for all their help surrounding the Show. Angela McGregor and Barrie Turner were in attendance along with the head of Catering, Amy Simmers, Angela’s daughter who did a magnificent job with teas, coffees and sandwiches throughout the duration of the Show. We’d also like to thank the members who took the time to come for a light lunch on the Friday – it was great to see you on the stand. The CEO Barrie Turner is now looking forward to a show-free visit to a number of breeders in the South West area and the kind invitation to Okehampton Show. The Champion on the day for Aberdeen-Angus was Balgay Elfhelm R368 of Mr C J & Mrs JLM Hutchings & Sons. Reserve went to Ballathie Emblem R301 of Mr D Luxton and Partners.
