The winning herd will receive a prize of £1000 plus a perpetual trophy, with £500 to the runner-up.  Both the winner and the runner-up will receive a suitably engraved quaich to keep.

The competition will be open to commercial beef farms within Scotland, England and Wales.  The financial performance of the unit will relate to cattle marketed during 2007-2008.

The unit must use a pedigree Aberdeen-Angus bull on 30 or more suckler cows, selling the progeny as suckled calves or forward stores.

Herd visits/interviews will be held at the discretion of the organisers. Initial screening will be on an area basis, and those herds short-leeted will be interviewed by a representative of the Bank of Scotland and the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society.

ENTRY FORMS must be returned to the Society office by 15th August 2010.

No individual information will be disclosed other than to the judges without first seeking the competitor’s permission.  However, the winner and the runner-up in the competition will be required to allow the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society to use any of their results for publicity purposes.
