Netherton Keystone leads strong entry at Grantown Show

The biggest entry of Aberdeen-Angus cattle for many years at Grantown Show gathered praise from the judge Alistair Fraser as being a strong line up with the quality one of the best he has seen a local show for a while. With 57 entries and 9 cows in one class it was good to see the Aberdeen-Angus out in force in an area steeped in Angus history.

The champion was Netherton Keystone G440 a 19 month old bull by Youngdale Touchdown and out of the National Calf Show Female Champion in 2006 Netherton Karama. Keystone exhibited by W and D Mclaren has previously stood champion at Braco Show and Reserve Champion at Perth Show where he was also Interbreed Native Junior Bull, Keystone is now destined for the Stirling Bull sales in October.

Reserve champion was Auchincreive Ebony Erica H031 a March 2008 heifer by Blelack Widgeon shown by Messrs C and E McCombie. This heifer is also a maternal sister to Auchincreive Red Elation the McCombie’s successful show bull from last year and who later sold for 7000gns at Perth October 2008.
