National Show calf champion sells privately to Borders herd

The stylish, correct January 2009-born heifer is a daughter of the Jones’ family’s stock bull Muirhall Top Deal E006 (a son of Young Dale Real Deal 18K) who was bought privately in spring 2008 from Bill and Sarah Reid, Perthshire. “Francis is one of the first calves by Top Deal and we are incredibly pleased with how he is breeding for us,” commented Edward Jones.

The depth of pedigree on the dam side is equally as powerful. The dam, Rull Francis F065, is a daughter of the Jones’ foundation cow Netherton Frances C236 who is a daughter of Netherton Royal Sovereign A072.

Commenting on his purchase Andrew Hodge said: “This heifer is correct in her body and legs and has tremendous style and presence in the show ring. She has a character that you can’t help but be taken with.” She now joins the 15-head pedigree herd run alongside 90 Aberdeen-Angus and Limousin cross suckler cows.
