Moncur Jacob Eric reigns supreme at Ayr County Show

Having faught their way through the rain and the mud, Hugh and Sandy Wilson, Beattock, Moffat, reigned supreme at Ayr County Show when interbreed judge and United Auctions auctioneer David Leggat tapped out their three year old stock bull to take the overall beef interbreed title.

Moncur Jacob Eric F063, bred in Inchture, Perthshire-based Russell Taylor’s herd, is by Curzon Entertainer and out of the Galcantray Preditor V9 daughter Moncur Jill Erica A014, who also goes back to TLA Northern Samurai. Eric has also won honours at last year’s Royal Highland Show where he won the breed championship and will head back there in the summer to hopefully retain the title.

Aberdeen-Angus carried on their winning ways by taking the interbreed group of three title, where Eric teamed up with the Wilson’s homebred heifer Newbank Diter H076, a daughter of Eric out of Tweedside Diter A006 and Cumnock-based Alistair Clark’s two year old heifer Duncanziemere Extasy F243, who is hoembred on both sides and goes back to Rawburn Transformer.
