Loxton herd disperse to a top of 1450gns at Sedgemoor

The Loxton herd of Aberdeen-Angus from BM and RG Flood, Compton Bishop, Somerset, dispersed to a top price of 1450gns at Sedgemoor Auction Centre at the weekend.

Sale leader was the four year old stock bull, Hepworth Prince Elgar, bred by Messrs Graham and Jill Nicol, Bristol. Sired by Hepworth Proud Percy, Z005, he is out of Hepworth Princess Elaine B009.  

The three year old cow Woodington Eulina, with heifer calf at foot, sold for the next best price of 1160gns.

Close behind at 1110gns was the three year old daughter of Old Barn Charlie B018 Woodington Pinky Glamour with bull calf at foot.

The six year old dry cow Woodington Eulina Y432, a daughter of Haymount Wedlono, which goes back to Mushroom Friar Fergus. Eulina sold having been running with a bull since March, sold for 920gns.

Averages: Store steers; £780 and heifers; £730 (Greenslade Taylor Hunt).
