Logie Legendary leads Aberdeen-Angus trade at Perth Multi sale

48Leading trade for Aberdeen-Angus bulls at today’s (May 4) multi breed sale in Perth was Ellon, Aberdeenshire-based Messrs M Bruce and Partners’ Logie Legendary G602. This son of Logie Darius E382 is out of Logie Lady D272 and has a SRI of +38 and TI of +28. Buyer was D Grant and Son, Aberlemno, Forfar.

Next in the money at 3000gns was Coruanan Lord Lucky G079 from J H C Campbell and Sons, Alnwick, Northumberland. Lord Lucky has a SRI of +30 and is a son of Duncanziemere Edward D155 out of the RawburnTransformer Coruanan Lady Luck A019. He knocked down to Ross Bros, Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.

Richard and Carol Rettie, Clackmannanshire, sold Retties Lord Ross G018 at 2800gns. By Hurdcott Beacon C108 out of Rawburn Lady Rhoda, he heads to Isle of Islay, Argyll with I O Warren.

Aucheneck Estates, By Glasgow, snapped up Cumnock, Ayrshire-based Alistair Clark’s best Duncanziemere Jack G250. This grandson of Black Banner X1 of Idvies on the dam side is by Newcairnie Pastor Z006 and sold with a milk figure of +8 for 2500gns.

The best from Dinnet, Aberdeenshire-based Neil Massie and Sons was Blelack Electron G1999. With a milk figure of +7 and TI of +22, this one is by the import sire Reich Poker 13P out of Eyrie X23 of Blelack and sold to W J McCornick, Carluke, Lanark.

The champion bull came from Insch, Aberdeenshire-based Val Huggins. Kitewood Kastaway G034 is by Ankonian Elixir 100 out of a daughter of Wedderlie Netmark. He has a whopping milk figure of +17 and a SRI of +37 and knocked down to MacFarlene farms Ltd, Duns, Berwickshire.

Alexander Grieve, Fife, secured the reserve spot with Carlhurlie Edmund G632. With a SRI of +25, he is by Blelack Blackstock C737 out of Carlhurlie Elaine C347 and stays in Perth with D J and A S McLaren.

Leading trade for females at 1000gns was James Drummond, Dunkeld, Perthshire, with the 2001 born Ladywell Erana Princess A014, a daughter of Prince Proper W10 of Oxencraig. Taking her home was K Taylor and Sons, Killin, Perthshire.

Averages: 9 bulls 32444.17; 10 females £813.75 (United Auctions).
