Kingsbrompton heifer wins Devon breed championship

Dulverton, Somerset-based Colin Hutchings has done the double in the Aberdeen-Angus rings at this week’s Devon County Show.

His championship winner was the two year old heifer Kingsbrompton Evitress G572, a daughter of Curzon Endeavour C092, who goes back to Nightingale Regent A020. her dam is Dark Lane Evitess Y211.

Taking the reserve championship spot was a bull Colin bought back in Perththis year for just 2600gns. Hallington Lancer is by Blelack Prince Consort A286, out of Blelack Lady C754 and was bred by Alan Lawson and Son, Newcastle on Tyne.

Although Colin was unfortunate to go any further in the interbreed championship, Messrs Paul Frain and Lisa Davey from Launceston, Cornwall, won the junior interbreed championship with Muirhall Last Deal. Bred by Bill and Sarah Reid, Perth, Last Deal is a Januray 2008 born son of Muirhall Top Deal, which is by the import bull Young Dale Real Deal 18K and is out of the Fordel Eisenhower Y423 daughter Muirhall Ladybird D001.
