James Porter on winning form again

Castlewellan Show in Northern Ireland was a mirror image of Balmoral under judge Alastair Clark, Ayrshire, with the same two top animals coming out on good form again.

James Porter proved to be unstoppable with his senior herd sire The Moss Mr Eshton collecting the Supreme award, and his herd mate Netherton Kim standing in reserve.

The Moss Mr Eshton

Mr Eshton, who was bought in Perth in partnership with the McLaren family for 36,000gns, is by Vermilion Dateline 7078 and is out of the legendary female maker DMM Miss Essence 22B.

Netherton Kim, bred by the McLarens, is by TLA Northern Samurai and is out of Kim of Fourdafourie, another exceptional breeding cow.

There was a good entry of blacks out right across the board – so it will be interesting to see how the placings will go at the All Ireland to be held later this month at Clogher Valley Show.

Pictures to follow shortly……
