Ives family takes championship at East of England Show
Leading the way under judge Wanda Hobbs of the Ellin and Wedderlie herds from Berwickshire, was Mr T W Ives and Sons, Winslow, Buckinghamshire, with their yearling bull Winslow Lord Harry, which is by Haymount Wraz F676 out of Penguin Lady Heather F267. This one is bred in the Ives’ 20-cow herd and will either be sold privately or retained as a junior herd size. This is the first championship he has had in his own right as he previously stood best Angus exhibit at the Herts County Show in May.
Taking the reserve championship was Andrew Brown, Bury St Edmunds, with his yearling heifer Hawstead Lodge Bonny Bride J235 which is by the herd’s senior stock bull Nightingale Panmure E281 out of Hawstead Lodge Bonny Bride G123.
Mrs Hobbs described her champion as being “very connect, thick and good on his legs, while her reserve champion was a sweet, stylish heifer with great breed character.”
