Deveron Jasper Eric leads the way at Cork Show

The Cork Summer Show was held at its new green field grounds on the suburbs of Cork City after spending 150 years at its City Centre location with its permanent features of horse stable, cattle stalls, spectator stands, many of which were built by voluntary labour in worse financial times than we are now experiencing, when emigration was the norm.

Albert De Cogan’s first major win of the season occurred at the weekend at Cork Show, as he took the Aberdeen-Angus championship with his senior stock bull Deveron Jasper Eric F170, an April 2006 born son of Deveron Limited Edition C094 out of Newcairnie Jacqueline Erica A268 and bred by Hamish Sclater.

Jasper Eric has a SRI of +31 and was tapped out as breed champion by judge John Blackburn, Co Tyrone, ahead of Luddenmore Evening Tinge H008, a yearling heifer from Michael and Martin Sheehan, Co Limerick. This November 2008 heifer is by Dalrene Cruz 11F out of Fullam Evening Tinge D133 and was shown by George Dyle.
