Colin Hutchings wins at Royal Cornwall Show with senior bull

Taking his second Aberdeen-Angus championship of the major shows this year was Colin Hutchings of Dulverton, Somerset, who stood champion at last week’s Royal Cornwall Show with his April 2006-born bull Wedderlie Kentucky Excel F176. By Wedderlie Eriexad B428, he is out of Wedderlie Kensue A234 and was tapped out champion under judge Albert De Cogan.

Taking the reserve spot and overall female championship was Paul Frain and Lisa Davey, Launceston, Cornwall, with their March 2008 two year old heifer Woodvale Lady Jane H723. Purchased from Dromore, Co Down-based Alwyn and Carol Armour, Lady Jane is by Woodvale Mr Awesome and is out of Woodvale Lady Jane D942.

Female and reserve overall champion from Paul Frain and Lisa Davey

Taking the reserve male championship was Mark Pilcher, St Ives, Cornwall, with his March 2009-born bull Gear Finn J203. this one is Netherton bred on both sides and is by Netherton Frenchman F399 and is out of Netherton Frances B156. The reserve female championship went to Ed and Claire Jones, Cullompton, Devon with their yearling heifer Rull Pam J101, who is by the herd’s stock bull Muirhall Top Deal E006 and is out of Rull Pam D027.
