Sun shines on the Erica’s at Gillingham and Shaftesbury

Strong classes and a day of sunshine graced judge Paul Westaway of the Melview herd at Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show where he found his champions in the form of a pair of Erica’s. 

Taking the female and overall championship was the Denning Family with Haughton Justine Erica L012. This cow has had a brilliant summer with wins at many shows including her class win at the Summer National at Great Yorkshire. Taking the reserve female and reserve breed championship was Warrenho Erica M418 from the Bishop family, this young cow is one to watch at the autumn shows with her calf at foot also winning the calf class.  

Taking the male championship was a yearling bull Rodmead Primero R746 from Messers Neish who farm close to the showground at Maiden Bradley. Primero is sired by Warrenho Elite M417 who himself was a winner at the summer National Show and a top seller at Stirling. This young bull is now off to Newbury Show before being entered for the February 2017 Stirling Bull Sales.
