Having had an incredibly successful summer show season with championship wins at the Highland and the Summer National Show, Donald Rankin’s young cow Retties Lady Ruth N228 has added to her success by winning the championship at Black Isle, Perth and Grantown Shows.

Under judge Tom Rennie at Black Isle she also went on to take the reserve interbreed championship. Brought out by her breeders Carol and Richard Rettie, this April 2013-born Rawburn Elysium F547 daughter has also won at Central and West Fife Show, alongside her February-born Retties JFK heifer calf Kilmaluag Lady Ruth S348 and was champion at Black Isle and Grantown Shows last year.

Standing reserve to her at Black Isle was Newton-Struthers Junerical P938 from A and K Rhind. This one is by Newton-Strutters Elysium L433 and is out of a home bred Muirhall Double Edition E018 daughter. This result was exactly the same at Grantown Show, this time under David Lucas of the Cheeklaw herd.

Lady Ruth then went on to take the championship at Perth Show under judge Hamish Sclater of the Deveron herd. Standing reserve to her was her herd mate Weeton Princess Chartreuse R467. Born June 2015 and bred by John Loftus, this one is by Retties JFK M195 and out of the Nightingale Defiance E264 daughter, Blelack Princess Chartreuse G793. She was junior champion at the Great Yorkshire Show as well as a class win at the Royal Highland.
