The Melvin Farming team from the Westaway family was on winning form again, this time at the Royal Cornwall Show when they clinched the female and overall championship under judge Mr A Taylor from Kirriemuir, with their homebred cow Melview Georgie J017. Georgie is no stranger to success as she was female champion at Devon County Show in May and was first at last year’s Summer National Show.
Taking the male and reserve breed championship was Colin Hutching’s senior bull kingsbrompton Miss Ethel’s Endeavour, who also won his class at last years National.
Reserve female champion was Irwin and Dylis Rowe’s yearling heifer, Bosullow Tibbie P384, while reserve male champion was M J Collins’ bull Rosemead Bishop J988.
