This year’s Black Beauty Bonanza, which will take place at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, on Friday, November 20, 2015, will be judged by Netherton Angus’ William McLaren with mains sponsor Glenrinnes Farms Ltd of Glenrinnes, near Dufftown, recently confirmed.

The show regularly attracts more than 100 entries from the leading Aberdeen-Angus herds in the North-east, as well as from further afield, and is widely recognised as the foremost calf show of the breed.

Club chairman and commercial Aberdeen-Angus producer, William Ritch, East Fingask, Oldmeldrum, warmly welcomed Glenrinnes Farms as main sponsor in succession to Sellars Agriculture who have supported the event for the past five years.

“Glenrinnes Farms is the farming arm of the well-known Glenrinnes farming and sporting estate, with its award winning pedigree cattle and sheep enterprises producing high quality organic beef and lamb, as well as extensive shooting and deer stalking interests,” said Mr Ritch.

“We are delighted to sponsor this well-established event,” said Mr Locke. “Glenrinnes Farms has been developing its pedigree herd of Aberdeen-Angus for a number of years and it is great to help support the Black Beauty Bonanza, which acts as a showcase for the breed.”

In addition to classes for both calves and yearlings, this year’s Black Beauty Bonanza will include a class for Aberdeen-Angus steers. The show will be judged by leading Perthshire breeder and former president of the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society, William McLaren, Jun, Netherton, Blackford, Auchterarder.

Judging will commence at 1.00pm and will be followed by the junior showmanship competition in the evening starting at 6.30pm which is open to youngsters aged from 8 to 26. The judge will be Harry Emslie, Kinknockie, Mintlaw, Peterhead.
