AHDB (EBLEX Division) is exploring the opportunities to help the beef and sheep sector the make better use of genetic improvement tools in the future.  To this end EBLEX has commissioned Abacus Bio of New Zealand to undertake a review of the genetic improvement of beef cattle and sheep in the UK.  The project has three main strands: 

• To determine the financial benefit of breed improvement.
• To assess the strengths and weaknesses of the current structure of breed improvement services in the UK.
• To explore how the potential benefits of genomic technologies can be captured for the UK beef and sheep sectors.
