Connaught/Leinster Aberdeen-Angus Club Dance

Connaught/Leinster Aberdeen-Angus Club Dance

22.01.2019

The Connaught/Leinster Aberdeen-Angus Club staged its first ever dinner dance at the Athlone Springs Hotel, Athlone, Co. Westmeath over the weekend. The brainchild of club members, Niall Lynch & Barry Smith, this event was launched in order to add a well-needed social element to the club’s yearly activities whilst also honouring the biggest winners from last year’s All-Ireland Aberdeen-Angus Championships and the National Aberdeen-Angus Calf Show, both of which were held in the club’s jurisdiction in 2018.

Gerry Smyth from Angus Beef Ireland was at hand to formally present the awards on the night and also spoke briefly to the floor about the looming Brexit deadline and the challenges arising from this particular political issue. Michael & Niamh Barron, Conor Craig & Amanda Bogan, Pat & Finbarr Cahill and Cathal & Cormac Duignan all received awards from their show-ring performance at the All-Ireland Aberdeen-Angus Championships whilst Bernard Kerins & Anthony Scanlon, Matthew & Rita Goulding, Martin Garvey and Michael & Barry Smith all collected awards ensuing from their prize-winning outing at the National Aberdeen-Angus Calf Show. The dinner and presentation of awards was followed by drinks and dancing with many patrons enjoying the night’s festivities well into the early hours of the morning!!

The Connaught/Leinster Aberdeen-Angus Club would like to thank everyone who attended on the night and look forward to building on this event into the future. Finally, the Connaught/Leinster Aberdeen-Angus Club AGM will take place later in the year and for more details, please contact club chairperson, Gerry Lynch on 087 6123492 or club secretary, Shea Feeney on 086 0836854.
